Life in IDN Boarding School part 1 [10th grade — Semester: 1]
Yo! The name’s Abdullah Umar Hermawan, age 15, birth date 23 April 2006, first year high school student at IDN Boarding School Designer class. I’m from Kuwait, was born there and lived there up till now but I went for school in Indonesia since middle school, although I still live in Kuwait. Currently I’m on remedials from last weeks exams, the first semester is about to end on the weekend. The story today is about how’s life in IDN so far, specifically how have I been living in IDN so far and how did I ended up here. But note that I might not do this every semester, this one is for remedial purpose.
[Mid October]: It was around that time when me and my friends were playing at out childhood playground in Kuwait when my dad called my phone and said “Your friends are going back to Indonesia at 23 October, why not go along with them?” I was quite confused knowing were supposed to go at 30 October and go to our own boarding schools since were from different area in Indonesia, then I said “What? aren’t we supposed to go at the end of the month?” my dad replied “Change of plans”. So I told my friends I was playing with about it and some of them said they already know, meanwhile me and some other guys are still confused.
[Late October]: Almost a week after that, exactly 23 October I met up with my friends in the airport and we went flying to Dubai in United Arab Emirate around the night, of course by plane. We stayed for a night in Dubai for transit. The next morning we move on to the second plane taking flight to Indonesia, it was a 15 hour flight. We reached Indonesia on 25 October and held for a Quarantine for 8 days.
[Early November]: On 3 November We’re allowed to go home from Quarantine and It took me a week to get all the stuff I need to go to my new dormitory on 11 or 12 November, nothing mush happened on Early November.
[Mid November]: From here on is where I start my life in IDN Boarding School living in a dormitory, I met a lot of new guys like me, except that they’ve been living in the dorm for three to four months, meanwhile I’ve been studying online through the past seventeen months, it started all good but I forget almost the rest of the story.
[Mid November & Early December]: Around the end of December we all started doing our semester project, it was a long work (you can see them in my first post) and starting December we have exams, and now here I’m stuck with my remedials.
The subjects we studied here are mostly technology and design, the test was about general knowledge so yup, remedials that is.
